In view of rapid expansion of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries during the sixties and early seventies in and around the city of Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the need for starting of B.Pharm course in Osmania University was felt and as a result, the first batch of students was admitted in 1974 with arrangements for their instruction in the University College of Chemical Technology in the Osmania University campus. During 1976, the first two batches of B.Pharm students were brought to Arts and Science college (a constituent college of Osmania University) Warangal to fulfill the condition of being in Telangana Rural area for tapping funds from Telangana Development Board. The arrangements for their teaching were made in Kakatiya Medical College and Regional Engineering College apart from Arts and Science college.With the establishment of Kakatiya University in August 1976, the reponsibilty of Osmania University for administering the B.Pharm course ceased.
