Prof. B. Kesava Rao and Prof. A. Radhakrishna were awarded Best Teachers awards by the State Government.
Prof. A. Radhakrishna and Prof. R.K. Shukla were given teaching assignments in the University of Algeria and Eritrea countries respectively.
Prof. B. Kesava Rao and Prof. M. Parameswara Rao visited USA.
Prof. B.R. Seth Ex V.C. North Eastern Hill University, Prof. B. Arunachalam, V.C. Dravidian University, visited our department.
Faculty members authored 10 books and edited 5 books for Telugu Academy.
Prof. M. Parameswara Rao is the present Dean, Faculty of Science. He has been awarded A.P. Stated Best Teacher, 2002.

Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the department was celebrated in 1992.
Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the University was celebrated in the year 2001 by conducting Seminar, Workshop and Exhibition in the department.
