SC & ST CELL

The SC/ST Cell is established in the university to co-ordinate with the university authorities in implementation of the various policies and programmes launched by the State Government and the UGC for the benefit of SC/ST students. It also undertakes the activities to develop awareness among the SC/ST students specially those coming from rural areas regarding various activities related to the welfare of SC/ST students. The staff of the Cell is actively engaged in coordinating and solving the problems in the matter of admissions in affiliated colleges and in the university, utilization and timely disbursement of scholarships, accommodation in hostelsthe implementation of rule of reservation in appointments as well as in allotment of quarters to SC/ST employees.

During the academic year 2005-2006, the cell approached 409 colleges to furnish the statistical information and implementation of the rule of reservation for SC/ST students admitted

During the academic year 2005-2006, the cell approached 409 colleges to furnish the statistical information and implementation of the rule of reservation for SC/ST students admitted in various UG & PG Courses, appointment to the Teaching and Non-teaching posts and any other facilities providing to SC/STs in the Colleges.

The cell is also helping the SC/ST Research Scholars in getting the contingency grant sanctioned @ Rs. 5,000/- and Rs. 3,000/- to those who have submitted Ph.D. thesis and M.Phil. dissertation respectively.

Further, the cell has taken up problems of SC/ST students & employees with the university authorities and solved some of them amicably. Further, the cell has arranged wide publicity of Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Fellowship among the SC/ST students. As a result, 51 M.Phil. students have been selected for the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Fellowship in various courses.

In addition to the above, Department of Social Welfare, Hyderabad and ITDA Project Officer, were requested to help the students pursuing self-finance courses in providing funds and sanctioning of tuition fees to students
