Initially started as a unit in the former Evening  College, it was re-christened as University College of Law in 1980 and is offering LL.B. and LL.M. courses and Ph.D. programme. The library has a good collection of more than 10,000 books and subscribes to research journals in Law. The teachers are specialized in Jurisprudence, Labour Law, Torts & Criminology and International Law. Most of the faculty members are actively engaged in research and community work providing legal advice to the needy. The training to the law graduates is offered through moot courts, court visits, Lok Adalats, legal aid camps, etc. The College has successfully completed a project on Environmental Education.
