The department of English is established in the year 1967 with a built-up area of 4,600 sq.ft in the university college campus and is currently headed by Dr.M.Rajeshwar. The department have academic, administrative and financial autonomy.

The department is equipped with advance facilities such as Language Lab equipped with 3 multi-media Computers, TV, VCR, 8 mm Projector, 2 Two-in-Ones, Audio System(with eight microphone serial ports), Disc Player, OHP, Slide Projector, etc.
