The department of economics is established in the year 1974 with a built-up area of 4,374 sq.ft in the university college campus and is currently headed by Dr.A. Vinayak Reddy. The department have academic, administrative and financial autonomy.

The department is equipped with advance facilities such as Computing facility, Overhead Projector.
